I am now officially registered to run my first Half Marathon!
For years now I have said that one of my life dreams is to run an actual marathon. I am not sure if I will ever achieve this dream, but I am on my way there with my plans of running a half marathon this fall.
When I began training for this half marathon, I did not know if I would realistically be able to run that far (13 miles or 21.1 km) or have enough time in my busy schedule to train well. Being a full-time mommy and working lots does not leave a lot of extra time leftover, but because I am an early morning person and I have a wonderfully supportive husband, I have been able to train pretty well.
I am not the best or fastest runner but I do enjoy running! When I go out to run I really feel like it is a time for me and God. I am running with GOD. It is a time where I can just turn up the worship music on my ipod (which was recently given to me as gift from a friend- thanks so much!) and I just GO running with the Lord. During my runs I am processing life, praying, seeking God, worshiping and praising, meditating on truths - sometimes specific words or scriptures, and many times the Lord uses these running times to speak deeply to me.
This morning I ran 12 miles/19.3 km.
I ran slowly, but I did it! This is the farthest I have ever run in my life. Slowly but surely, I am increasing my mileage in preparation for my upcoming race. I have been following an online plan for beginners as I have been training.

On the race day, I will most likely be one of the slowest runners in the race, but I am pretty sure I will be able to finish the race. Now that will be an accomplishment for me! Overall, I am excited to be on my way to achieving one of the dreams God has put on my heart. It has been a great experience so far!
