We are Pregnant!

We, the Matias Family, are extremely happy to officially announce to the world that
WE are PREGNANT!

It is still too early to tell if it is 100% a boy or a girl, but it' not too early for me to have a baby bump!
What everyone says is true... The second time around your body reveals you are pregnant MUCH faster.  I am only 12 weeks pregnant and I already have a baby bump.  I was surprised at how quickly I began to show this time around.

Baby Matias is due to make an appearance into the world sometime around September 15th!

As many of you know, my last pregnancy was extremely difficult.  During my last pregnancy I had three fibroid tumors in my uterus (actually the wall of my uterus), and until today they are still there.  The fibroid tumors are a type of common benign tumor made of fibrous tissue, found in the uterus.  They are not harmful to the baby in any way, but in the past they caused me MUCH MUCH pain during my pregnancy with Sophia.

So far, in this pregnancy, I am really taking care of myself and I have had NO severe pain like I did in my last pregnancy.  I am praising the Lord for this!  This is really a praise!

Please pray for me and the baby and for this pregnancy to be more smooth.  This first trimester has been challenging at times because I feel so extremely exhausted (especially trying to work part-time and caring for Sophia), but I know this is very very normal and just a part of being pregnant.  I am just thankful to be pain-free so far!  Soon I will enter into the next trimester and will get some of my energy back.  I am looking forward to that!

Yesterday we had our first ultra-sound and we were able to get a copy of the ultra-sound recorded on DVD.  Baby Matias is doing well, has a strong heart beat and was moving a lot.  Felipe added some fun music to the ultra-sound video too, so enjoy seeing this first look at our new growing baby.

I am excited about being a mommy to two kiddos and Sophia is going to be a great big sister!  We have already shared this news with her, however she does not fully understand the whole concept that I am pregnant yet.  We are confident that Sophia is going to love having a baby brother or sister as she is so sweet with the babies of our friends.

Sophia loves little Sara Joy, who is the daughter of our friends and co-workers here at the Lighthouse Community Center.  Here the girls were swinging together in our hammock and loving it!

Sophia is also super sweet and loving with her baby doll.

As the Word of God says,
"A longing fulfilled is sweet to the soul..."
Proverbs 13:19

This is so true. For years I dreamed and longed to be a mother one day, and now God is fulfilling this dream, and how being a mother is sweet to the soul.  How the Lord fills me with joy, grace and love as I live life with my beautiful family.  I am FULL and so thankful for the gift of my (now growing) family!  I give Him all GLORY and PRAISE!
