My sister (Becky), brother in-law (Shawn) and twin nephews (Ben and Will) are here in Brazil visiting us. They have had the opportunity to see some of the work we do with the children and families of the Cafezal slum and also participate in my girls group.
On Tuesday, Ben and Will led a part of my girls group, giving a presentation about a kid's life in the USA - with me as the translator. Before even traveling here they had the idea to share with the girls what life is like in the USA for a kid. They prepared a power-point presentation and also brought American candy to hand out to the girls.
Ben and Will also played the National Anthem of the United States of America for the girls. Then the girls wanted to share the Brazilian National Anthem with them. Here is the video of the Brazilian National Anthem with a translation of the lyrics in English that we played during our group. The images of Brazil in this video are beautiful!
My girls LOVE to dance so after the USA presentation was complete, Ben and Will (and my sister Becky) taught the girls two different dances they learned at their elementary school this past year. It was a dancing day!
My girls learned the Cupid Shuffle and the Cha-Cha slide!
The girls enjoyed our special guests and our fun cultural morning!
