My Radio Head

This year I decided to attempt to read through the Bible in a year...

To be honest, it has been challenging to keep up with all the readings at times, but also really edifying and I am keeping up only by the grace of God.  I have had to really discipline myself to be in the Word of God.  Through this discipline I have been opening my mind to learn about God's character, remembering promises and stories of His faithfulness, focusing on truth and meditating on good and lovely things!

I love to worship the Lord. I love music. I love to sing to God in my times with Him... I guess that is my way with Him.  I think each and every one of us has a special relationship with God and a unique way to really connect with Him.  I connect with God through times of worshiping Him and singing of Who He is, singing His Word, singing praises and just loving on Him.  I love to worship Him through song and HE is truly worthy!

Yet, lately I find myself singing less and less. When I can finally sit and have a quiet time, usually during my girls' afternoon nap time, I really just NEED to just sit (or lay down) and be completely still and quiet.   I am usually wiped out exhausted (from my mommy duties of laundry, cleaning, breastfeeding, and potty training) and my little girls are usually sleeping (or almost sleeping).  Any loud singing or guitar playing would most definitely wake them up.

So I have been silenced in a way... and this year I have been challenged to READ the WORD during these few quiet hours...

Yet, as I read the songs keep coming and coming to my spirit.  The Word of God put into music, it is my favorite...

The other day as I was reading in Psalms song after song came into my heart. I did not sing aloud, but I smiled as I remembered many different songs as I read on...  My head is really like a radio.  Upon hearing or reading just a few words - BOOM a song will play in my heart and mind...

I will share a bit of my radio head here with you...
Hope you enjoy!

When I read Psalm 121, this song came to mind...
I Lift My Eyes Up
By: Brian Doerksen

and also this song...
Praise You in this Storm
By: Casting Crowns

While reading Psalm 125...
Those Who Trust
By: Don Chaffer

When reading Psalm 126...
You Have Done Great Things
By: Passion Band

As I read Psalm 131...
Psalm 131
By: Waterdeep

I just felt compelled to write a little today about my journey through the Word of God this year.  It is going well and I am growing and learning in new ways.  I am ever thankful for an AMAZING God who loves to be in personal relationship with His children!
