Last week, Felipe once again had the honor of photographing two pretty awesome events. The Rescue House, a ministry of YWAM Belo Horizonte working with street kids, have been running English workshops for teenage boys doing time in a local juvenile detention center. This week the Rescue team graduated two different groups of boys who succesfully completed their English program.
The first graduation celebration took place last Monday. The boys were allowed to leave the detention center (accompanied by guards) to go to the Rescue House for the special occassion. Family members were also invited, which made for an even more memorable day!
Words of life were spoken, as the boys were recognized for their accomplishments.
On Thursday the second graduation service took place with another group of boys, but this time inside the juvenile detention center. A YWAM team (from the DTS I have been working with) were invited as guests to share during the graduation.
The teenage boys received hugs, certificates of completion, and encouraging notes!
A moment of prayer to finalize the graduation service.
During the Rescue House's English program, these teenage boys learned much more than how to speak a few English words. They also learned of God's immense love and the great hope they have for a better future!
Please pray together with us that these boys will never be the same again and will choose to walk with the Lord all the days of their lives.
God's love and care for them is IMMENSE!
The Lord is righteous in all His ways and loving toward all He has made.
The Lord is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth.
He fulfills the desires of those who fear Him; He hears their cry and saves them.
