Celebrating the World Cup!

Most Brazilians really enjoy following the World Cup.  Life literally STOPS on Brazil's game days - with most businesses, banks and companies closing so that everyone in the country can watch the game.

Although Brazil sadly lost their last game, and therefore the team no longer qualifies to advance in the 2018 World Cup, we are still enjoying following and watching the games.

This World Cup season we have had a lot of fun as a family, dressing in our matching Brazil soccer shirts, and watching the games together with dear friends and family. We even watched a game with the kids at Casa Semear one day!

On one game day we also made special pancakes!

Josiah slept through a lot of the games, but he was so cute in his soccer outfit!

Here is a special video showing how we painted the street in front of our home as a way of celebrating and cheering Brazil's team on!

We have made fun family memories and participated in this very Brazilian tradition more than ever before.  I must say, there is nothing like watching the World Cup games in Brazil.
We are already looking forward to the next World Cup season!
